1929 Fred Hollows born in New Zealand
1965 was Head of the Eye Department at Sydney Hospital.
1975 he helped launch a national program to attack eye disease in Aboriginal Australians.
1980 Fred was travelling all over the world to help set up eye health programs in developing countries
1989 Fred Hollows was diagnosed with cancer
1993 Fred died at home surrounded by his friends, his wife Gabi and their five children
